The Weissritter (ヴァイスリッター), is a Banpresto Original Mecha debuting in Super Robot Wars Compact 2 Part 2: Cosmoquake. Part of the ATX Project, it was later upgraded into the Rein Weissritter. A mini-replica of it was also built at the Endless Frontier, known as the Weissritter Abend. Its main pilot is Excellen Browning.
Technological and Historical[]
The Weissritter is designed to be a Personal Trooper that excels in long-range assault, utilizing its flight capabilities and maneuverability to snipe down targets from a distance with pinpoint accuracy. It is only capable of achieving such agility through sacrificing protection and having paper-thin, aerodynamic armor, allowing the unit to be extremely lightweight and mobile. To supplement for its handicap in close-range combat, the Weissritter is meant to work in tandem with the Alteisen, a heavily-armored close-range combat unit specializing in quick frontal breakthroughs with overwhelming power.
Compact/Impact Series[]
It was developed from the PTX-001 Gespenst along with the Alteisen.
SRW Compact 2.2/SRW Impact P2[]
The Weissritter, with Excellen as its assigned pilot, was stationed at the Ra Cailum. After intercepting a Neo Zeon scouting party heading to Earth along with allies, it is active as part of Londo Bell's combat force as the Ra Cailum travels around the Solar System to repel hostile enemy forces. It also participated in the showdown against the second Einst Regisseur near Earth's orbit, just on the outskirts of Plant Star Dirado.
SRW Compact 2.3/SRW Impact P3[]
Just as Londo Bell was about to infiltrate the planetoid fortress Dirado, the Einst reached out to Excellen, causing her to go AWOL and taking the Weissritter with her. The Einst proceeded to remodel the Weissritter into the Rein Weissritter, along with acquiring data on the Gespenst (Compact)/Gespenst Mk-II (Impact), of which they will mass-produce their own versions later on.
Alpha Series[]
SRW Alpha Gaiden[]
In the Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II section of Alpha Gaiden's Robot Encyclopedia, it is mentioned that there exists custom models of the MP Mk-II known as "Alteisen" and "Weissritter", hinting at their somewhat obscure existence in the Alpha Series.
OG Series[]
Designed by Dr. Marion Radom, the PTX-007-03C Weissritter uses the PTX-007-03 Gespenst Mk-II Type-T as its base. Marion conceived the Weissritter as a newly-customized Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II for mass-production alongside her Gespenst Mk-III, though similar to its partner mecha, the unit proved to be too expensive and only one unit was completed. It was originally not planned to be equipped with any EOT, but as the situation dictates for a PT that can effectively combat the agile and flight-capable Lion series, a Tesla Drive was installed on the Weissritter, allowing it to fly (Marion was initially planning to give the Weissritter numerous standard thrusters around its body for flight, but there wasn't enough time to implement it). This single unit is given to ATX Team member, Excellen Browning.
The Weissritter served as the basis for one of the ATX Project's next-generation PT, the Wildfalken and Wildfalken Type-L. In the Shadow-Mirror world, the Weissritter was planned to become the "Gespenst Mk-IV" but was still undergoing development and only existed as schematics. Stored within the crashed Trilobite-class ship Neverland, data of the Gespenst Mk-IV was utilized by the people of Formido Heim in the Endless Frontier to create the Weissritter Abend.
SRW OG1/SRW OGs1[]
Excellen received the Weissritter a while after arriving at Langley Base, replacing her old MP Gespenst Mk-II (which was later passed on to Russel Bergman). It made its combat debut near the end of a DC raid led by Tempest Hawker on Langley Base, successfully disabling 3 MAPW missiles launched at the base by sniping down their propulsion systems with precise accuracy. The Weissritter served as Excellen's personal mecha for the duration of the DC War and L5 Campaign.
SRW OG2/SRW OGs2[]
In OG2, part of the ATX Team, the Weissritter supported Lamia Loveless and her Angelg from DC forces when the android first arrived at the OG world. In OGs2, before their encounter with Lamia, the ATX Team went on a mission to retake the Tesla Reich Institute from DC remnant forces. In the later stages of the conflict with the Neue DC and the Inspectors, Excellen was drawn out towards the Einst due to her Einst-possessed body and abducted by them, bringing the Weissritter along with her. The Einst brainwashed Excellen and enhanced her Weissritter using Einst material, creating the Rein Weissritter.
For OG2 only, the Einst-made compounds on the Rein Weissritter crumble to bits after the defeat of Neu Regisseur/Stern Neu Regisseur, reverting the mecha back to its original Weissritter form. This does not happen in OGs2, and the Weissritter gets to keep its uncanny upgrade.
Armaments & Attacks[]
- Split Missile (スプリットミサイル)
Standard armament seen on the Gespenst-related machines, it is essentially a deployable missile container loaded with 6 missiles. After launching, the container's front cover is jettisoned and the missiles within fly towards their target.
- Triple Beam Cannon (3連ビームキャノン | Sanren Beam Cannon)
A three-barreled beam cannon mounted on the Weissritter's left arm.
- Plasma Cutter (プラズマカッター)
An energy saber equipped for close-range combat. Omitted from OGs onward.
- Neo Plasma Cutter (ネオ・プラズマカッター)
Upgraded version of the Plasma Cutter. Only seen in OG2.
- Slash Ripper (スラッシュ・リッパー)
Sourced from a Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II, it was equipped on the Weissritter's left Split Missile rack on its back for the battle against the Weisssaviour in Super Robot Wars OG: Record of ATX chapter 41.
- Oxtongue Launcher (オクスタン・ランチャー)
The Weissritter's main weapon, a long double-barrel sniper rifle that can either switch to E Mode or B Mode, firing energy blasts or armor-piercing rounds respectively. The rifle's name comes from the Ox Tongue Spear, a broad-headed spear used in Europe during the 15th-16th centuries.
- Oxtongue Launcher E (オクスタン・ランチャーE)
- The "E" stands for "Energy". Drawing power from its own reactor, Weissritter fires energy blasts from the lower barrel of the Oxtongue Launcher. Capable of striking down multiple enemy units at once with the immense beam, this mode is used for long-range strafing.
- Oxtongue Launcher B (オクスタン・ランチャーB)
- The "B" stands for "Bullet". Weissritter fires armor-piercing shells from the upper barrel of the Oxtongue Launcher. Although it has shorter reach compared to E Mode, it significantly packs more power.
Solo Attacks[]
- Oxtongue Launcher W (オクスタン・ランチャーW)
The "W" stands for "Double". A special maneuver in which the Weissritter engages the enemy with both modes of the Oxtongue Launcher, usually by assaulting the enemy with B Mode first before blasting them with E Mode. For OG2, the Weiss will fire its Triple Beam Cannon and Split Missiles first before using the Oxtongue Launcher.
Combination Attacks[]
- Rampage Ghost (ランページ・ゴースト)
Combination attack between Weissritter and Alteisen, or in the case of Impact, Alteisen Riese. There are different attack animations depending on the game:
- Impact: Alteisen Riese rushes in as Weissritter launches 4 sets of Split Missiles, before the Alt slashes the enemy with its Plasma Horn and sends them flying. Waiting for them on the other side is a point-blank shot from the Weiss' Oxtongue Launcher E, followed by the Alt impaling and blasting its Revolving Bunker into the enemy, joined by a Plasma Cutter stab from the Weiss.
- OG1: Alteisen rushes in first while the Weissritter fires its Triple Beam Cannon at the enemy, before the Alt delivers a descending slash with its Heat Horn. Weissritter then blows the enemy away with a point-blank Oxtongue Launcher E shot, followed by Alteisen on the other side impaling and blasting the target with the Revolving Stake as Weissritter joins in at the same time with a Plasma Cutter stab.
- OG2: The same with OG1 albeit with slightly different animation, and how Weissritter utilizes several point-blank Oxtongue Launcher B Mode blasts instead of a Plasma Cutter stab during the final phase of the attack.
- OGs: The attack begins with both machines charging toward the enemy while blasting their Square Claymores and Oxtongue Launcher E Mode respectively, blowing the enemy to the skies. Pursuing the target, the two mecha then perform a pincer maneuver from both sides with the Alt's Triple Machine Gun and the Weiss's Triple Beam Cannon, before ramming the Revolver Stake and Oxtongue Launcher B Mode into the target and emptying their clips, creating a massive explosion as the robots fly away.

Notes[]
- Weissritter is German for white knight (although it's a literal translation and grammatically incorrect; "Weisser Ritter" is the correct form).
