Duraxyll is a fictional mecha in the Super Robot Wars series, it appears as both a Playable and Enemy mecha, it debuted in Super Robot Wars EX as the final boss of Masaki Andoh's route and has appeared in Super Robot Wars Gaiden: Masō Kishin – The Lord of Elemental, the Masou Kishin series and 2nd Super Robot Wars Original Generation.

Appearance[]

Duraxyll, in all its appearances, has been a towering machine with white with green highlights with clawed wrists. While in Super Robot Wars EX, it shares similarities with both ZZ and Nu Gundam due to its creator's fascination with Gundam, it has a gold double V fin on it head with 18 remote units called Taó̱s Tails surrounding its frame like a cloak. As of Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: The Lord of Elemental Duraxyll would be redesigned to be less "Gundamish", its head would be remade to resemble the Huckebein series and it's Taó̱s Tail units would be lengthened with blue eye-like lenses and its claws recolored red. Duraxyll 2 is colored dark violet and red.

Technical and Historical[]

Developed as part of the "Chou Masouki" (Super/Hyper Elemental Machine) project proposed by Xenia Grania Bilseia and completed by Feil Lord Gran Bilseia, the Duraxyll incorporates data taken from machines from the surface (Gundams in EX and data from the Huckebein series in OG 2nd taken from Cybuster). The main point of the Chou Masoukis is the fact that they can operate without a spirit's blessing and it is equipped with an Artificial Prana Converter allowing a pilot with a high enough Prana reserve to bring out power close to or surpassing that of the 4 Masoukishin.
Its armament includes Guided Missiles stored in shutters between the claws, the powerful Hyper Oscillation Claws, the Entaiaryi Buster mounted in the chest and the most unique weapon found on a Masouki (until Gatswo's creation) are it's Taó̱s Tail units. They are 18 remote weapons that can be used while either mounted to fire the devastating Mega Smasher, launched to attack enemies in a wide area or can be used in formation to fire Duraxyll's most powerful weapon, the Buster Cannon, which can blow away most mobile weapons (from either the Surface or La Gias) in a single shot.
It would first be fielded by Feil Lord to defend Langran from the pieces of Volkruss which were running rampant, then in a bid to unite La Gias by force before his death, but his plans would be stopped by the Kouryu Sentai (Londo Bell in EX).
During the events of the Masou Kishin series it was revealed that Duraxyll's design was leaked to Lasetse Novaste's forces by Tudy Lasm Ikunart, and would later be used to develop the Duraxyll II which would mostly be used by Lasete's remaining followers.

  • Buster Cannon:
Duraxyll's most powerful weapon, first it locks onto its target and launches the Taó̱s Tails which then circle around it in a large halo formation as it walks forward, the remote weapons then begin firing beams all around with a few hitting the target, it's eyes then flash as the Taó̱s Tails form into 4 cannon groups, 2 of 4 and 2 of 5, and then the groups fire 4 massive beams that destroys the target in a massive explosion as Duraxyll looks on (in the Masou Kishin series Duraxyll would simply form and fire the Buster Cannon without first using the Taó̱s Tails as a start up).

Trivia[]

In most of the games it's appeared Duraxyll is only playable for 1 or 2 stages before the player loses it for some reason, this running gag ended in Masou Kishin F.
